Robert L. Kettelkamp, 75, passed peacefully at his home in Warrenton, on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
He was born August 9, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Frank & Dorothy Kettelkamp.
After graduating high school, Mr. Kettelkamp earned his bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1965 from the Missouri University of Science & Technology. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in electrical engineering in 1966 from the University of Florida. He began a 46-year career as an electrical engineer with IBM Corp., then with Lockheed Martin and finally with General Dynamics-AIS until his retirement in December 2012.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Barbara A. Kettelkamp; two siblings, Frances Ann Kettelkamp and James Edward Kettelkamp, both of St. Louis, Missouri; two children, Mark Kettelkamp and Robin Kettelkamp; two stepsons, Brad Watkins and Craig Watkins, and five grandchildren, Haley Steward, Hunter Steward, Clay Watkins, Ellis Watkins and Brendan Watkins.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, when the service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will follow at Little Georgetown Cemetery near Broad Run.
