Shirley May Urban, 93, of Warrenton, died May 12, 2018.
She was born October 28, 1924, in Medford, Massachusetts, the only child of the late Mortimer Francis and Anna Frances Sullivan.
Prior to moving to Warrenton 13 years ago, Mrs. Urban lived for many years in Medford and Mashpee, Massachusetts. She was noted for her love of singing. She was a USO entertainer during World War II and was an enthusiastic member of choirs in Medford and Mashpee.
She was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton.
Her beloved husband of 68 years, John Phillip Urban, died in 2015.
Survivors include five children, Jean M. Coleman, John F. Urban, Joseph P. Urban, Jeffrey M. Urban and Shirley J. Bakker; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton. Interment will take place Friday, June 1, at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
