Obituaries » Stephen Rex Ennis Sr.

Stephen Rex Ennis Sr., 66, of Catlett, passed away at home on May 28, 2017.

He was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Fredericksburg, to the late Neal and Alice Amelia Benson Ennis.

Mr. Ennis worked as a heavy equipment operator. His passions included playing guitar in a country band, singing karaoke and race cars. He was known for being an incredible deal-maker. It has been said that Mr. could “leave walking but come back driving one car and pulling another.” The greatest loves in his life were his family, and his grandchildren were his world. He will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Diane Ennis; his children, Stephen Ennis Jr. and wife Phyllis; Lisa Lynn Hawkins and husband John Hawkins III, Anthony Wayne Ennis Sr. and wife Shannon and Richard Larue Justice; his brothers, William C. Ennis, Robert B. Ennis Sr. and Lottie D. Ennis; his grandchildren, Ashten Elizabeth Robinson, Jose Luiz Pereira, Austin Wayne Robinson, Anthony Wayne Ennis Jr., Stephen Rex Ennis III, Randi Diane Ennis, Michael Neal Ennis, Brian Marcus Pereira and Edith Amelia Cowne, and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by siblings Larry Richard Ennis, George T. Ennis, Roger C. Ennis and Bernice “Tootie” Ennis.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, when the service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial will take place after service at Stonewall Memory Gardens near Manassas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Center of America.
