Sydney Emlyn Bryant, 89, of Bealeton, a devoted husband and father, passed away on August 24, 2017, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.
Mr. Bryant was a retired construction superintendent who last worked at Gregory Construction in Manassas. He served with pride in the United States Army, Company I, 32nd Infantry during the Korean War, receiving a battlefield promotion from private to sergeant first class. He was honored with a Bronze Star for his outstanding leadership in combat.
When he lived in Manassas, Mr. Bryant was an active member and commander of VFW Post 7589 until building the family home and moving to Casanova. He and his family lived there for forty-three years. At the time of his death, Mr. Bryant was living in Bealeton, with his wife and two daughters.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Bryant; two daughters, Joan Bryant and Anne Bryant all of Bealeton.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Stella Kerlin of Manassas, and June Vernon, also of Manassas.
The service will take place at noon Saturday, Sept. 2, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Private burial will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens near Manassas. Graveside services will be for family only.
