Vivian Ann Canada Holmes, 92, of Warrenton, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2017.
She was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Clover, Va., to the late Theodore and Annie Canada.
Mrs. Holmes put her heart and soul into her work and the people with whom she worked and volunteered over the years at Rhodes Drug Store Gift Shop, Fauquier Hospital and Fauquier County Public Schools. She was a member of Warrenton Baptist Church for 59 years, during which she was an active and devoted participant. Mrs. Holmes was also a Past Worthy Matron of the Marshall Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Hill Holmes, and her siblings, Marion Canada Burgess, Richard Canada and Irene Canada Mann.
Survivors include two daughters, Yvette Holmes Wheeler and husband Wendell and Susan Holmes Patnaude and husband Jeffrey, and her grandsons, David Holmes Wheeler and wife Ashley and Garrett Bowman Wheeler and wife Emilie.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 18, when the funeral will begin at Warrenton Baptist Church. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. The family will have a private burial at the Warrenton Cemetery.
