Walter Thomas Elam Jr., 81, a lifelong resident of Remington, died on January 14, 2018, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1936, in Remington, to the late Walter Thomas and Lorelle C. Elam.
Mr. Elam was a retired auctioneer and livestock dealer.
He is survived by three children, Diane M. Elam of Remington, Michael Thomas Elam and his wife Deborah of Remington, and Denise E. Brown and her husband Michael of Sumerduck; his former wife, Doris V. Elam of Remington; a sister, Ruby Prenant of Maryland; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Harlow.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, followed by a graveside service at the Remington Cemetery.
Pallbearers named are Robert M. Elam, Ryan D. Elam, Evan M. Brown, Mitchell W. Brown, Richard Jenkins and Jeremiah D. Robey.
