William Edward Haines, 76, of Bealeton, died Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born May 23, 1942, in Rappahannock County, to the late John and Viola Haines.
William was a great father and husband. He was a devoted Christian man worshiping as a member at the Catlett Assembly of God. He loved the outdoors and farming.
William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Haines of Bealeton; his children, Glen Haines and wife Charity of Rappahannock, Mark W. Haines of Bealeton, and Melissa K. Haines of Orange; he is known as “Dad” to his granddaughter, Marissa Southerland of Culpeper and two great grandchildren, Mariah Southerland and Brantlee Jenkins both of Bealeton; his grandchildren, Madison Haines of Rappahannock, William Glenn Haines of Culpeper, Glen Dustin Haines of North Carolina, and Glen Randal Haines of Charlottesville, and great a granddaughter, Faith Lee Jenkins.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Richard Haines and wife Hazel of Brandy Station, Virginia Hitt of Lignum, and Elmer Haines and wife Becky of Culpeper, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his siblings, Rosemary Haines, Marianna Woodward, Turner Haines, Thomas Haines, Floyd “Buddy” Haines, Mildred Smith and John Junior Haines.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 21, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike. The service will take place a noon Friday, February 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Schaidt officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Jeffersonton.
Pallbearers will be William E. Fox, Joey Gray, Justin Hackley, Rick Haines, David Haines, Lee Haines, Randy Haines, and Vern Babcock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Johnson, Jay Haines, John Weimer and Eric Fox.
