Obituaries » Frieda C. Noll

Frieda Caroline Noll, 95 years young, departed this life for Heaven on April 8, 2017, at the home of her daughter Marilyn E. Doyle in Jeffersonton.

She was born Oct. 9, 1921, to the late William and Meta Mueller of Stewardson, Ill.

She spent several of her early adult years working in Chicago before returning to down-state Illinois to be closer to home and family. She married farmer Otto W. Noll and lived in the Strasburg area for 20 years before divorcing in 1966. Mrs. Noll moved to Mattoon, Ill., working as a housekeeper for many families including three generations of the Link-Thiel family until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon for almost 50 years and an officer of the Mattoon Senior Club.

Survivors include her only child, Marilyn E. Doyle and husband Eric of Jefferson; her grandsons, Jason E. Doyle and wife Peggy of Chesterfield and Kirtlin W. Doyle of Annandale; her great-grandchildren, Amanda Cantrell and husband Robert of Fredericksburg and Joshua Doyle, Kaitlyn Doyle and Brandon Doyle of Chesterfield; a great, great-grandson, Caleb Cantrell of Fredericksburg; her special friend and companion, Mildred “Sissy” Ritchie of Culpeper, and sisters her sisters, Ruby Steineman and Eileen Quicksaw of Ill., and Geraldine Klingaman of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Phillip Dean Embrey.
The funeral will take place at 1:30 pm, on Thursday, April 13, at Living Hope Lutheran Church, 325 Courthouse Road, Stafford, with Rev., Jonah P. Burakowski officiating. The family will receive friends, starting at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Lutheran Church or Little Fork Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 6011 Rixeyville Road, Rixeyville, Va. 22737.
