Obituaries » Gleason A. Branscome Sr.

Gleason A. Branscome Sr., 79, of Amissville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.  

He was born March 31, 1937 in Jolo, W.Va., to the late Hobert and Besse Blankenship Branscome of Jolo.

Mr. Branscome was a proud U.S. Army veteran and loved wood working, gardening, old pickup trucks and his animals.  He was employed as a commercial driver and enjoyed his job, especially his customers.  

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Constance “Connie” Silcott Branscome of Adelphi, Md.; and five children, Debora Hart and husband William of Bluefield, W.Va., Jennifer Branscome of Tazewell, Francine Sarcione and husband Stephen of Nebo, N.C., Gleason Branscome Jr. and wife Diana of Forest and Kevin Randolph and wife Laura of LaPlata, Md.; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Branscome of Manassas and Hubert Branscome of Willoughby, Ohio, and a special sister-In-law, Mae Branscome of Jolo, W.Va.  

A brother, Clayton Branscome of Jolo, W.Va.; a son Steven Randolph of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a granddaughter, Tonya Hart Holland of Radford, and a great- granddaughter, Kristin Holland, of Radford, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. A graveside service will take place at noon Friday, Feb. 24, at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Md.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiac Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital and/or to the Wounded Warrior Project. Select “Make gift in honor of an individual”.
