Lester Warren LeCompte, 90, of Amissville, passed away July 14, 2017, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
He was born May 31, 1927, in Asbury Park, N.J.
Mr. LeCompte retired after 32 years as an accountant for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Germany after World War II and during the Korean War.
Mr. LeCompte received his bachelor's from Rider University in Trenton, N.J. He met his wife Marianne in Germany while serving in the Army. They married on Feb. 1, 1955, in Rehau, Germany. The LeComptes resided in Lawrenceville, N.J., and then in Springfield. Marianne was the only love and the love of Mr. Lecompte’s life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne Elsbeth Baumgartel LeCompte; a sister, Audrey LeCompte; a brother, Rev. Milton LeCompte, and a sister, Elaine Percival.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna LeCompte McConn and husband Tom of Amissville; a sister, Mildred Forrester and husband Maurice of Williamsport, Pa.; a brother, Frank LeCompte of Farmingdale, N.J.; a sister, Carol Belles and husband Carl of Lawrenceville, N.J., a sister, Mary Faloon and husband Bruce of Lancaster, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Richard Percival of Florence, N.J.; many nieces and nephews in the U.S., and two sisters-in-law and nieces and nephew living in Germany.
A private shelter service with military honors will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery.
