Paul Carter Taylor, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at his home in Warrenton
He was born October 10, 1949, in Arlington, to the late Joseph F. Taylor and Catherine Carter Taylor.
Mr. Taylor attended James Madison High School, Old Dominion College and Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned his PhD in economics from Virginia Tech, where he studied under Nobel Memorial Prize winner James M. Buchanan. Dr. Taylor’s passion was public choice theory as it applies to economics.
He held a number of positions with various trade associations, most notable the National Automobile Dealers Association, from which he retired as its chief economist in 2013.
His hobbies were cars and wine.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph F. Taylor in May 2013 and his mother Catherine Carter Taylor in April 2008.
Survivors include his brother, Charles “Chuck” Taylor and wife Kathy of Dallas, Texas, and his niece, Cheron Taylor of Richardson, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will be private.
