Ray Markee Young, 81, of Warrenton, died suddenly on Aug. 4, 2017.
He was born in Rockport, Ind., on Aug. 29, 1935. There he met his wife and love of his life, Doris. They moved to Washington, D.C., in 1955 and raised their two children, Brenda and Doug, before moving to Warrenton in 1993.
Mr. Young served in the U.S. Air Force and worked most of his career in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., until his retirement. He was a proud member of The Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Order of the Kentucky Colonels and organizations supporting our troops. He was grateful for his wonderful life and will be remembered for his smile, kindness, friendship, love of golf and love of family.
He is survived by more than 200 wonderful family members, including his brother Joe.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton. Internment at Warrenton Cemetery immediately following.
