William George Rosenberger III, 69, of New Baltimore, died peacefully at his home amongst family on April 21, 2017.
He was born Jan. 7, 1948, in Pottsville, Pa., to the late William “Bogey” and Elizabeth “Betty” Rosenberger. He grew up in Levittown, Pa., and lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., before settling in New Baltimore in the early 1990s.
Mr. Rosenberger was a carpenter by trade and worked as a building inspector for Arlington County for many years. He finished his career working as a contractor for the CIA in Langley. In his spare time, Mr. Rosenberger enjoyed sports, especially golf and watching football, and was active in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Warrenton. He also enjoyed his time working with the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co. Most Christmases, he would don the red suit and make kids giggle with his laugh. He and his late wife Ginny “Gin-Gin” did whatever they could for the church, from Mr. Rosenberger serving as an usher to the times enjoying Oktoberfest.
He had a long and loving marriage to Mary Virginia “Ginny” Sommers Ginny of Leesburg, until her passing in 2011. They were true soulmates. They enjoyed their extended, blended family. Over the years, their lakeside home was always open to friends, family and numerous four-legged companions.
Mr. Rosenberger blessed us all with his pragmatic wit and his love of family and God.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, followed by interment at Bright View Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co., P.O. Box 310, Broad Run, Va. 20137.
