Yep, I have seen the same thing, BJ. My flags go up early in the morning and are retired at sunset. Sadly, in my neighborhood, there are many former feds who don't fly the flag at all - sad!
Rule for flying an American Flag at night is that it should be illuminated, otherwise you are suppose to take it down at sunset and put up at sunrise. We see many flags flying at night that are not illuminated in some way.
I fly two flags, one on the house, and a second on a stand-alone flag pole, to honor all service members who gave their lives for our freedom and for those who serve our country now.
