Should Virginia’s lawmakers and governor expand Medicaid coverage?

The Virginia Senate Finance Committee will meet May 14 to resume the long-running debate. The House of Delegates last month passed its version of the state budget, which includes expanding Medicaid to cover as many as 400,000 low-income Virginians. Federal funds would cover most of the expansion costs. Gov. Ralph Northam supports expansion.

Sorry, Vickie, but it seems you haven't read the facts about the thousands of Virginians lacking access to healthcare because medicaid isn't available to them. The majority of these people are the working poor. They are not gaming the system. There is not healthcare system for them to "game." These are not undocumented people or criminals. And, medicaid expansion is not a give away. Virginians pays millions and millions of federal taxes. To date, none of those millions have been returned to Virginia in the form of medicaid. Instead, our federal tax dollars have been distributed to other states. I imagine you benefit from tax dollars, too. Do you drive on public roads and highways? Do you have, or had, children in public schools? Have you ever been to the hospital? Do you eat food raised by farmers receiving federal subsidies? Do you ever fly? If so, your ATCs are federal workers. Oh, and are you protected by our military? I think I've made my point.

Gov. Ralph Northam will give away anything not nailed down and not coming out of his own pocket. Our county didn't go to Northam. He got his majority from Northern VA, Richmond area and down around Yorktown. He can thank illegals and criminals who have returned rights being bought for give-aways. Virginia didn't have enough turnout of those that had to actually pay for all the freebies, and the loafers voted him in. No free lunch you guys. Remember that when you feel the pain for someone else gaming the system.
