...and the government shall taketh away what it wants, when it wants, and how much...
There are approximately 10,000 taxing jurisdictions in the US. Small businesses don't have the means to keep up with taxing appropriately and sending the taxes where they belong, keeping required records, etc. Expect many small businesses to close or go belly up.

Bought something from Amazon and they a charged 1.75% tax.
Just bought something from Wisconsin online and was charged Virginia's sales tax of 5.3%.
...after all, taxation is theft!

I do wonder how this will work as to the which taxes will apply for online purchases. The general Virginia sales tax is 4.3%, with a 1% local tax added to make it 5.3%. And those in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads pay an additional regional tax of .7% making the total 6%. Aren't those additional taxes paid based on where the seller is located?
BJ - I think in that case you would end up paying the 6% VA sales tax.
My question is about when I buy something from a company based in Arizona that manufacturers in and ships their product from Pennsylvania? What sales tax % does the consumer pay, Arizona (which I think does not have a sales tax) or Pennsylvania?

Yes, except for medical. Without this revenue the property owners will probably end up making up the difference. If you buy it online or in a store should make no difference.
