Liberty’s girls basketball team continued its march toward a second straight state title with a 54-20 win over visiting Brentsville in a regional tournament quarterfinal Tuesday.
In the teams’ three meetings this season, Liberty outscored the Tigers, 167-46.
Liberty has the region’s top seed. Brentsville was the No. 8 seed.
The Lady Eagles extended their winning streak to 23 games and improved to 23-1 on the season.
They will host Tuscarora (Leesburg) in a regional semifinal at 7 p.m. Thursday. The winner will face the winner of Monticello and Woodgrove in the Region II Division 3 championship Saturday.
