The Virginia Senate today narrowly passed Sen. Jill Vogel’s (R-Upperville/27th) bill to require women to undergo ultrasounds before abortions.
Anti-abortion Democrat Charles Colgan of Manassas joined Republicans to approve the bill, 21-18.
Observers expect the Republican-dominated House of Delegates to pass the bill quickly and to send it to Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) for his signature. With the governor’s approval, it would become law July 1.
