Adult Alpine Walking Group
Alpine walking is a total-body version of walking that can be
enjoyed as a health-promoting physical activity. The activity is
performed with specially designed walking poles similar to ski
poles. Compared to regular walking, Alpine walking involves
applying force to the poles with each stride. Alpine walkers use
more of their entire body with greater intensity and receive fitness
building stimulation not present in normal walking. In this group
you will hike the nature trails at Riverside Preserve enjoying the
beautiful views of the surrounding area and of the Rappahannock
River. Expect to be on medium difficulty trails that could be muddy,
uneven, hilly, and present the possibility of walking through water.
Poles are not provided. Ages 18-54. Class meets on Monday 6/14-7/12 from 8:30am-10am at Riverside Preserve Park. Register by 6/11 using code 1525. Cost $12.
