Volunteer Management Training Series: Recruiting and Placing Volunteers: Matching Volunteer Skills with Service Needs
Lynn Lauritzen, PATH Foundation
Thursday, August 15, 1:00 – 4:00 pm
If you manage volunteers or plan events for your organization, please join us for this training series. Created by the Points of Light Foundation, these 6 interactive workshops support organizations as they build a sustainable volunteer program. Participants will form a comprehensive understanding of the major components of a nonprofit volunteer management program. Nonprofits are encouraged to attend each or all of the dates. Those who attend all sessions will be presented a certificate of completion.
In the third workshop of the series attendees will:
-Develop position statements for volunteer recruitment and placement
-Identify steps for development and implementation of a targeted recruitment strategy
-Craft a volunteer recruitment message that sells the benefits and shares the features of the position
-Define techniques for screening, interviewing and matching volunteers with positions
Target Audience: Those with beginner or intermediate experience coordinating volunteers
Program attendance is complimentary for board, staff and volunteers of organizations operating within the PATH Foundation service area (northern Culpeper, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties). For participants from other organizations, a $25 charge applies.
