Songs From The Road Band live at Gloria’s
The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance is pleased to welcome Songs From The Road Band to Gloria's Listening Room this Saturday, September 14th. Songs From The Road Band is an Asheville, North Carolina based newgrass quartet featuring Mark Schimick, Charles Humphrey, Sam Wharton, and James Schlender. Collectively, they have received top accolades in the bluegrass, Americana, and jazz genres. The band is currently touring in support of their fourth studio album, Road To Nowhere. Humphrey is an IBMA award and Grammy winning performer and producer. He is a NC Music Hall of Fame member. Schimick has soared to the top of the progressive and jamgrass scene alongside legends Larry Keel, Vassar Clements, and Tony Rice. James Schlender, 2 time National Fiddle Champion has shared the stage with Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin, and George Benson. Originally from Alabama, Sam Wharton is an award winning guitar player and vocalist that honed his chops in the bluegrass halls of Telluride, CO. The Road Band delivers a high energy show full of original material from their 4 studio albums, unmatched instrumental prowess, and creative covers. Tickets are $20 and seating is limited so advance purchase is highly recommended. Children 12 and under admitted free with parent or guardian. Doors open at 7:30 and the concert begins at 8pm. Proceeds will go to The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing music education and instruments for all those wishing to learn and enjoy music.
