Virtual Lecture Series: Warrenton’s Role in THE Romance of the Twentieth Century
On August 8th at 2PM, join us for a virtual lecture on the role Warrenton played in THE Romance of the Twentieth Century. Bessie Wallis Warfield Spencer Simpson Windsor, was an American woman who captured the heart of the then Prince of Wales, and whose engagement to him led to his abdication from the throne in 1936. A controversial figure in British history, Wallis lived in the Warren Green Hotel for several years while awaiting a divorce and traveled back to Fauquier several times with the former King. Learn about this fascinating story with historian and president of the Fauquier Historical Society, Laura Kelsey.
The lecture will take place on Zoom, a videoconferencing tool. Guests will need to sign up for a free zoom account and include their email so that they can receive the link for the lecture. Tickets are $8 per person. You can purchase them on Eventbrite, on Facebook or on our website. See you there!
