Real estate roundup: 129-acre Upperville farm sells for $4 million

A 129-acre Upperville farm sold recently for $4 million.

The four-bedroom, 5,400-square-foot brick manor house at Deerfield Farm dates to 1839. The restored house features 3-1/2 bathrooms, seven fireplaces, pine floors and detailed millwork.

The property features a barn converted into a guest house with movie theatre, a swimming pool, an 1810 log cabin used as the pool house, a five-car garage, a workshop and miles of trails.

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation holds a conservation easement on most of the property.

The property went on the market in August 2020 with an asking price of $4.5 million, according to The price dropped twice, most recently to $3.3 million.

Helen MacMahon of Sheridan-MacMahon represented the seller, and Bill Amery of Long & Foster Fairfax Mosaic represented the buyer.

The Scott District transaction tops the most recent list of Fauquier property sales.

The list also includes a five-bedroom home on five acres near Warrenton that sold for $1 million.

Built in 1979 on Old Waterloo Road, the 3,000-square-foot brick home has 3-1/2 baths, a gourmet kitchen, a two-car garage, a swimming pool and a pool house. The property features a pave driveway, a run-in shed and fencing.

The Marshall District property went on the market in January with an asking price of $950,000, according to

Kimberley Campbell of Samson Properties represented the seller and Lisa Mead of Long & Foster Vienna/Oakton represented the buyer.
