Law enforcement vehicles line Old Auburn Road near the home where an 18-year-old man suffered fatal injuries Monday night.
UPDATE: Victim came home bleeding profusely from gunshot wound to face. Killing investigated as first-degree murder.

Fauquier sheriff’s deputies have opened a homicide investigation of an 18-year-old Warrenton man’s death Monday night.

Responding to a reported injury at a home in the 5000 block of Old Auburn Road at 10:42 p.m., deputies found Lincoln Williams Jr. “suffering from severe upper body trauma,” Sgt. James Hartman said Tuesday morning.

“Deputies began to provide first aid to the victim,” Sgt. Hartman added. “As his condition worsened deputies performed CPR.”

Medics arrived, began treating Mr. Williams and took him by ambulance to the Fauquier Hospital emergency room.

Mr. Williams “was pronounced deceased not long after arriving at the emergency room,” Sgt. Hartman said. “This incident is being investigated as a homicide. The Virginia State Police is assisting.”

Mr. Williams attended Kettle Run High Schoo, where he played junior varsity and varsity football.

The Old Auburn Road home stands about five miles east of Warrenton.

Authorities ask any with information to call the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 540-347-3300.

“The cause and manner of death will be determined by the office of the chief medical examiner,” Sgt. Hartman said. “Further information will be released when it becomes available.”

With the DC TV news broadcasting all the details I find it somewhat not surprising that we "locals" are not being informed by our local police and news..........
