After foreclosure, 50-acre farm sells for $1.69 million

The stable at Coachman Farm, which sold for $1.69 million — less than 60 percent of its tax assessment — after foreclosure.
A 50-acre horse farm near The Plains sold recently for $1.69 million after a foreclosure auction.

Coachman Farm on Stoney Hill Lane near the Northern Fauquier Community Park has a total assessed value of $2.97 million for county tax purposes.

The property has a four-bedroom home built in 1988, a large stone stable, a two-bedroom tenant house and other outbuildings. The farm also served as an weddings and events venue.

The previous owner filed for bankruptcy protection.

The Scott District property last sold for $1 million in July 1988, according to county real estate records.
