As summer heats up, so do entertainment options around Fauquier.
The county fair continues through Saturday night. Old Town Warrenton hosts its first “Wizard Walk,” featuring a variety of activities and “frivolities” Saturday. The Remington Community Garden hosts its farmers market. Sky Meadows offers a Saturday morning birding walk, and a Led Zeppelin tribute band performs at Gloria’s in Warrenton.

The celebration of country life features midway rides, food, exhibits, livestock, contests, a beer garden and a rodeo (Friday night). Tickets: $10 for adults and $5 for children, senior citizens and military members.

The inaugural Harry Potter-inspired event will feature games, frivolity, exhibitions, musical performances and other activities in stores, restaurants and other venues. Owl show at 3 p.m. Magic show at 4 p.m. Wizard Walk Parade on Main Street, from Fifth Street to the old courthouse, at 5:30 p.m. Free.

Sky Meadows State Park

A master naturalist will lead a one-mile walk to explore the habitat of birds, including the Eastern Bluebird, Tree Swallow, Wood Thrush and Red-headed Woodpecker. The program will focus on how those species depend upon the native trees, plants and open fields for their food, shelter and nesting spaces. Participants should consider bringing binoculars, field guides and bird ID apps. Free. Parking fee: $10.

The four-decade tradition of summer concerts in Old Town Warrenton has resumed after a year off because of the pandemic. The blues/rock band will continue a four-concert series, organized by the Allegro Community School for the Arts. The Town of Warrenton and the Virginia Commission for the Arts provide financial support. Main Street closed to vehicles for the evening. Free.

The four-member band from Winchester puts on a show of 1970s classic rock hits by Led Zeppelin, which sold more than 200 million albums. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Beer, wine, soft drinks and light snacks available for purchase. Tickets: $20. Children 12 and younger admitted free with parent or guardian.
