Best Bets: Father’s Day Car Show, Remington festivities

Clockwise from left: Father’s Day Car Show in Warrenton, art show and sale in Remington and Razor Hill performs Saturday night for Summer Concert Series in Warrenton.
Father’s Day weekend offers a variety of entertainment options all over Fauquier County.

The 23rd annual Father’s Day Car Show will attract thousands of people and hundreds of classic vehicles to downtown Warrenton on Sunday.

On Saturday, Remington will host a show and sale of local artists’ work and a celebration to dedicate the new pavilion next to the United Methodist Church.

The Summer Concert Series continues Saturday night in Warrenton, while Shreck, The Musical continues on the Fauquier Community Theatre stage at Vint Hill. And, the county library at Bealeton will host an event Saturday afternoon for young writers.

The Fauquier Community Theatre youth production concludes a two-weekend run. A little ogre, the title character finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and more than a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Full of whimsical, fun, colorful and unexpected characters and imbued with a powerful music score, “Shrek” teaches us that we are all different and special – and that we all have worth. Tickets: $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students.
