Summer on the Green Concert
Silver Tones Swing Band

The four-decade tradition of summer concerts in Old Town Warrenton resumes after a year off because of the pandemic. The local swing band will open a four-concert series, organized by the Allegro Community School for the Arts. The Town of Warrenton and the Virginia Commission for the Arts provide financial support. Main Street closed to vehicles for the evening. Free.


Astronomy for Everyone
8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10
Sky Meadows State Park
11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane


The event starts with a half-hour children’s “Junior Astronomer” program, followed by a discussion about the importance of dark skies and light conservation. Then NASA Jet Propulsion Lab Ambassadors present the latest astronomy news, followed by introduction to the celestial skies with a brief sky tour. Feel free to bring your telescope or binoculars for your own exploration. Visitors should bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets. Parking fee $10 per vehicle. Gates close one hour after program start time.
