Irving Berlin’s musical tells a fictionalized version of the real life story of Annie Oakley, a backwoods girl who became a famous sharpshooter in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show in the late 1800s. The story begins when she wins a shooting match against the traveling-show’s marksman, Frank E. Butler. Romance blossoms, and the fun begins. Ticket are $10 for students, $15 for adults, with a $45 family pass available for the Saturday matinee. Free for children younger than 5, but must have tickets.

Hayrides, old-fashioned field games, dancing, music, magic, storytelling, crafts, a petting farm, bake sale, hikes in the shadow of the Appalachian Trail, face painting, cake-walking, corn hole and lots of strawberries. $25 per vehicle. Proceeds fund Emmanuel Episcopal Church outreach and grants to community organizations. More info here.
Hunt Country Stable Tour 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26

The 60th annual self-guided driving tour provides behind-the-scenes looks at some of the world’s finest equestrian facilities around Upperville and Middleburg. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the gate. Free for children younger than 10. Proceeds support the community outreach work of Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, a logical place to start the tour.
Flying Circus Air Show 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26

Old-fashioned, barnstorming-style show of comedy and aerial stunts, including wingwalking. Family friendly. Show starts at 2 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m. Picnic area. Food, drinks and aircraft rides available. Show tickets are $15 adults, $7 for children 5 to 12, free for those younger. Group and military discounts.
