Weekend options in Fauquier include two performances in the extended run of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Fauquier Community Theatre, Music in The Plains Day, a couple of bluegrass concerts, opportunities to explore nature and an open house at the New Baltimore volunteer fire/rescue station.

Fauquier Community Theatre

The theatre has added two performances to its 2021-22 season opener, the rock opera based on the last week of Jesus’ life. With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar debuted 50 years ago. Tickets are $18 for students, $20 for seniors and $22 for adults. Audience members must wear masks and seating will be limited.
50th Anniversary Open House
New Baltimore Volunteer Fire & Rescue 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Celebrating a half-century of service, the volunteer company will host fire and public safety exhibits, including AirCare medical helicopter, children’s activities and a vehicle extrication demonstration. Free.

The event will feature a variety of nature-themed activities, a children’s play area, live music and Mount Bleak House Tours. Parking fee: $10.

All around town, The Plains
Plains Community League Saturday the second annual event, with five outdoor musical performances around town. The music starts at noon with Nova Voce and concludes with the First Baptist Gospel Church Choir at 6 p.m. Kid Sister, Jamie & Amy Potter and Jiamie Pyles & Henry Rust also will perform. Free.
The Country Gentlemen Tribute Band 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2
Marshall Community Center

For youth in Grades 6-12, the event will highlight plants and animals on the 900-acre preserve. Drop-off only program. Cost: $10 ($8 for Friends of Clifton).
