Fauquier sheriff’s deputies made arrests on drug charges at two local motels Thursday night and early Friday morning.

At 2:15 a.m. Friday, “deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn on Broadview Avenue in Warrenton for a report of drug activity,” Sgt. James Hartman said in a press release. “It was reported by the caller that a female had someone else pay for a room and later a group of individuals came to the room, and some began using heroin.

“During the investigation deputies located two males behind the motel on Rappahannock Street,” Sgt. Hartman added. “As deputies began to search the two males, one of the individuals, identified as Jeremy Davis, pulled items from his pocket to include a syringe.

“A further search of Davis located a substance in a baggy consistent with fentanyl.”

Deputy Emmie Dean charged Jeremy Patrick Davis, 37, of Chester Gap, with possession of a schedule I/II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond Friday morning, according to Sgt. Hartman.

At 9:37 p.m. Thursday, “deputies responded to a reported disturbance at The Fauquier Motel on Route 29 in the Opal area,” Sgt. Hartman said.

A man, “later identified as Jeffrey Thompson, opened the door at which time deputies detected the odor of marijuana,” according to the sergeant.

Mr. Thompson told deputies “he was the victim of an assault, however no evidence of an assault could be verified,” Sgt. Hartman said. “The reported assailant was not present at the motel at the time.

“During the subsequent investigation deputies located a locked container in the room with suspected marijuana, packaging materials and paraphernalia inside. The owner of the container was located and consented to a search of the container . . . .

“Deputy Austin Rodgers charged Megan Lynn Sloan, 27, of Warrenton, with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. She was held on a $3,000 secured bond at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.

“Jeffrey Steven Thompson, 49, of Rixeyville, was also charged. Thompson was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana and providing false information to law enforcement. He was held on a $1,000” at the county jail.
