“Grove” west of Warrenton sells for $1.67 million

On 25 acres west of Warrenton, “Grove” sold for $1.67 million.
A 200-year-old, eight-bedroom home on 25 acres west of Warrenton sold recently for $1.67 million.

Built in 1820, “Grove” two years ago underwent renovations that include a new boiler and air conditioning, along with bath and kitchen improvements.

Clad in stucco and metal roofing, the 7,200-square-foot home has 14-foot ceilings, a ballroom, a sunporch and two full kitchens.

The Holtzclaw Road property includes a two-bedroom tenant house, a two-car garage with a studio apartment, an eight-stall barn with a laundry and five fenced paddocks.

The property went on the market in January with an asking price of $1.69 million, according to Realtor.com.

It last sold for $890,000 in July 2020.

In the most recent transaction, Erin Peabody of Premiere Property Management represented the seller and Will Gaskins of KW United represented the buyer.

The Marshall District transaction tops the most recent list of Fauquier property sales.
