Detectives have obtained warrants charging three people with participation in the Jan. 8 murder of a 27-year-old man and the shooting of two others in a Warrenton apartment, according to Interim Police Chief Tim Carter.
Police charged Emily Race, 19, of Warrenton, with conspiracy to commit robbery.
Responding at 4 a.m. Wednesday, town police found Fabian Sosa shot to death and two other men found suffering life-threatening gunshot wounds in an apartment at 393 Jackson St.
Mr. Sosa suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to a court document. Police recovered a Taurus 9 mm pistol and two 9 mm cartridges from the apartment.
Two women and a man face one felony each as a result of the continuing investigation, Lt. Carter said. Detectives have charged:
• Makoya Denham, 21, of Detroit, Mich., with accessory to murder after the fact.
• Emily Race, 19, of Warrenton, with conspiracy to commit robbery.
• Alexander Golden, 18, of Detroit, with conspiracy to commit robbery.
Ms. Denham and Ms. Race “are currently incarcerated on unrelated charges,” Lt. Carter said. “Golden’s whereabouts are currently unknown.”
Police consider him “armed and dangerous,” the acting chief added.
“At this point the investigation has determined that Sosa and two other men injured in the shooting were the targets of this crime,” Lt. Carter said. “This shooting was not a random act. Early indicators led law enforcement to believe the three suspects, described by witnesses as running from the complex after the shooting, left Jackson Street immediately and were fleeing the immediate area.”
Neighbors called 911 early Wednesday to report fighting and gunshots at the apartment complex.
“This homicide of Fabian Sosa and the shooting of the two other men is being actively and aggressively investigated by detectives with the Warrenton Police Department in partnership with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and the FBI,” Lt. Carter said.

Someone named Emily Race worked at Chick fil A which is about a block from the apartment where the murder happened. I'm betting she was in that apartment for whatever reason. Maybe saw drugs or cash and got her friends from Detroit to rob the place.

Alexander Golden, 18, is an adult. Where is the photo in case he is still in the area?
