Q&As: Ross and Vogel running for Va. Senate

Ronnie Ross and Jill Vogel
Nov. 5 Election
• When: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.

• Where: 21 polling places in Fauquier.

• On the ballot: County supervisors, county school board, county constitutional offices — commissioner of revenue, commonwealth’s attorney, sheriff and treasurer, state legislators and John Marshall Soil and Water conservation board seats.

• Registered votes: About 51,000 in Fauquier.

• More information: Fauquier County voter registrar’s office and Virginia Department of Elections.
The opposing candidates live close to one another — near Middleburg and Upperville — in the Virginia Senate’s 27th District, which includes all of Fauquier County.

The 27th also takes in all of Clarke and Frederick counties, the City of Winchester and parts of Culpeper, Loudoun and Stafford counties.

Jill H. Vogel has represented the district since 2008. Ms. Vogel, who lives near Upperville and practices law in Warrenton, won the four-way Republican primary in 2007 and a very close general election that November. She easily won re-election in 2011 and faced no opposition in 2015.

Ronald J. “Ronnie” Ross III, of Middleburg, had no opposition for the Democratic nomination this year. A teacher at Highland School in Warrenton, Mr. Ross has waged an energetic campaign in his first try for elective office.
The winner will start a four-year term in January.

Vogel is an Ethics Lawyer AND a Republican. Something wrong with that picture.

The Republican party is dead to me. They are now the Dumb & Dumber Frat Party.
