VP candidate Pence will speak Saturday in Fauquier
Gov. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) will speak sometime after 3 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Farm in Northern Fauquier.
Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence will speak Saturday afternoon, Sept. 10, in Northern Fauquier.
Gov. Pence (Ind.) will headline “Pumpkins and Politics,” a celebration of agriculture, property rights and conservative values at Martha Boneta’s Liberty Farm in Paris. He will address the crowd between 3 and 4:35 p.m., according to organizers.
The Liberty Farm Festival will run from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
Candidates for the GOP gubernatorial nomination in 2017 and other political leaders also will speak Saturday.
Ms. Boneta rose to prominence in 2012, when Fauquier zoning officials threatened to fine her for alleged violations of the county zoning ordinance on her farm. She allegedly conducted activities on the 69-acre farm, including a children’s birthday party, without a permit.
Her case led to state “right to farm” legislation that limits local government’s ability to regulate on-farm activities.
