Christmas parade draws 7,000 to Main Street

Warrenton’s antique firetruck lights the way down Main Street.
Liberty Hill Pet Resort.
Liberty High School Marching Band.
An estimated 7,000 people line the parade route.
Eighty-five entries completed the route down Main Street on a clear, crisp and cool evening.
All three local high school bands — Fauquier, Kettle Run and Liberty — joined the festivities. Local businesses, schools, scout groups, nonprofit organizations and churches also prepared brightly-lighted floats.
Santa Claus brought up the rear before a finale of fireworks over Old Town.
The judges selected these winners:
• Clarke W. Griswold Award: Fauquier County Department of Environmental Service
• Most Original: Fauquier High School
• Judges’ Choice: Warrenton Cub Scout Pack 1166
