Warrenton dog big winner at national show in Philly

Silver Grand Champion Frodo — also known as “SGCH Halcyon’s All You Need is Love” — ranks among the nation’s top 10 Standard Schnauzers.
A Warrenton-area dog won “Best of Breed” among Standard Schnauzers at the National Dog Show on Nov. 18 and 19 in Philadelphia.

Silver Grand Champion Frodo — also known as “SGCH Halcyon’s All You Need is Love” — also has won other best of breed honors at major regional and national shows in the last year.

Owned by Leslie Shriner and bred by Pat White, both of the Warrenton area, Frodo ranks among the top 10 Standard Schnauzers in the U.S.

In February, he won an Award of Merit at the 2018 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. Frodo won the same award in 2014 and 2017. The Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club in May named him its “2017 Dog of the Year.”

Ms. Shriner has bred, trained and shown Standard Schnauzers — several ranked among the nation’s best — for more than 20 years. She owns Aspirations Pet Services LLC and Georjeans Dog Grooming & Self-Service Dog Wash in Warrenton.

Ms. White, a long-time Fauquier County resident and the owner of Halcyon Standard Schnauzers, which has bred more than 25 American and international champions and grand champions. She has served as president of the Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club. Ms. White has earned international recognition as a leading breeder of Standard Schnauzers, both as show dogs and family companions.
