Horse farm near Warrenton sells for $1.75 million

“The Meadows,” a 47-acre horse farm along Blantyre Road north of Warrenton, sold for $1.75 million.
This circa 1880 home on 21 acres near The Plains sold for $1.6 million.
A 47-acre horse farm just north of Warrenton sold last week for $1.75 million.

Built of stone, the main house at “The Meadows” dates to the early 1800s. The property along Blantyre includes a large stable, two tenant houses, multiple farm buildings, paddocks, a riding ring and a swimming pool.

The Piedmont Environmental Council holds a conservation easement on the property.

The Center District sale tops the most recent Fauquier real estate transaction.

Also last week, a five-bedroom home on 21 acres near The Plains sold or $1.6 million.

The renovated house at Herringdon Farm dates to 1880. The property includes a garden cottage, a greenhouse and a swimming pool.

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation holds a conservation easement on the property.

The property went on the market last November with an asking price of $1.9 million, according to

Emily Ristau of Thomas & Talbot Real Estate represented the seller and Joe Allen Jr. of Allen Real Estate represented the buyer.
