The event at Fauquier Springs Country Club will introduce new public schools teachers to the community and recognize veteran educators who have received foundation grants for enrichment programs.
The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation will host its 37th annual New Teacher Dinner on Thursday, Aug. 5.
The longstanding tradition introduces new public school teachers to the community and local businesses. The dinner at Fauquier Springs Country Club will feature cocktails, a buffet, music and presentations. Superintendent David Jeck and principals will introduce this year’s new teachers. The foundation will recognize its grant recipients and their funded projects.
Tickets are $80 per person, including the cost of dinner for a new teacher. The foundation also accepts donations.
Established in the mid-1980s, the foundation focuses on creating, enriching and expanding educational opportunities for Fauquier County Public Schools, teachers and students. It had awarded more than $260,000 in grants to fund enrichment opportunities for almost 200 teachers.
