Ashamed and disgusted finding masks on street

The writer took these photos Monday morning on Warrenton’s Main Street.
By Patrick Newell
Warrenton

Imagine my surprise when dropping off packages at the post office today (Monday) in Old Town Warrenton to find a handful of masks and other debris scattered on our beloved Main Street.

Town officials, restaurant owners and merchants took great care to open Main Street on Friday to provide outdoor dining and shopping with “social distancing.”

I certainly understand “cabin fever,” but please act civilized. We have no idea what lurks under these discarded masks and trash. (COVID-19, anyone?)

Act responsibly, if not for yourself, for other innocent people who are trying to taste a bit of “normal” life again!

Says a lot about the sheep wearing the masks, doesn't it.

It is no coincidence that nearly all the major cities that have been run by Democrats for decades are devolving into dystopian hell-holes full of violence, human dung, used hypodermic needles, trash and the homeless. People are fleeing New York, Chicago, L.A. and San Francisco. Major cities from Portland to Minneapolis to Denver to St. Louis to Memphis are on fire and deteriorating. Ohio cities are on fire this week with lawless Democrat Rioters, Looters, Rapists, Thugs, Duped Yippees and Rent-A-Mobs. Nearby Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Montgomery County Maryland, and Baltimore are crime-ridden, textbook examples of urban blight. Etc., etc.

If not stopped, our would-be elite “progressive” rulers will see that America is “fundamentally transformed” into a Third World Hell-hole country where everyone shares the privation equally (except for the elite progressive rulers themselves, such as Nancy Pelosi, of course).

Key Takeaway: Fellow citizens, when forced to dine out in Warrenton on Main Street by your Governor who has not been recalled yet, at least please clean up after yourselves, and try to leave Main Street as clean or cleaner than you found it. Let's not let what is happening around the rest of Democrat-controlled States happen inside our beloved Fauquier County. Be responsible enough Democrats to find a trashcan.

to Joan Smith: Why did you find it necessary to make such a snarky, nasty comment? But, since you did, what was your study and how did you gather and report your data? Have you published it anywhere? Has it been peer reviewed?

jim goodwin - well dang jim, the least those patriots could have done was stick around a little longer an DC clean up the rest of Richmond to show how much they love they love Commonwealth. It's the least then can do after all the unemployment support, food stamps, SS Disability. Special education, and Medicare they receive. Call it payback.

Well, if we're going tit-for-tat, the gun toting rednecks that swarmed the capital grounds on Lobby Day left the place cleaner than they found it.

Our society has been in decline for some time, not since 2016, though that accelerated the situation rapidly.

Social media, parents being too protective, kids allowed to get away with things that my parents would have stopped ASAP, disrespect for authority, the rule of law being broken by the ones making the laws, and mental illness not being addressed. We live in a no consequence society for the most part, and that's where our values have fallen.

It has been seen time and time again it depends on the balance of your bank account, your race, and who you know, as to if you will or will not succeed (or be allowed to live) in the world, not just in the USA.

I saw the beginnings of the end when Pampers replaced cloth diapers. LOL

Aaron Blumenfeld (A field in bloom, how long ago did your immigrant ancestors come to the USA?)

Joan Smith, any relation to John Smith or rather John or Jane Doe?
PabloCruz · May 19, 2020 at 12:17 pm
AB- I suppose then that the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, August, 2017 was exemplary of Republican Party values?
Aaron Blumenfeld · May 19, 2020 at 11:34 am
You are both correct. The societal decline showed up in November 2016 when Democrats could not accept that Hillary lost and trashed cities and parks.
And the mess left behind by pink pussy hat demonstrators in January 2017 - everybody remembers that.
Joan Smith · May 19, 2020 at 11:28 am
Typically democrats leave trash all over the place.
Silii · May 19, 2020 at 7:59 am
Societal decline since November, 2016

I feel the same way when someone tossing a cigarette butt on the ground or spits, even more disgusting now that it could be hiding a potentially deadly virus.

Field strip those cigarette butts if you can't find another way of disposing of them, and for those of you who spit or blow stuff out your nose "GROSS".
