Runners and walkers will start and finish from the WARF.
Hundreds of runners and walkers will pound leafy neighborhood streets in the fifth annual Bodies in Motion 5k & 10k on Sunday morning, May 15, in Warrenton.

The races will kick off at 8 a.m. with the 1-Mile Fun Run followed by the 10-k and 5-k races at approximately 8:25 a.m.

Runners will start and finish at the WARF.

Registration costs range from $10 to $30 per participant, depending on age and category. Entrants get race T-shirts (while supplies last).

About 350 runners and walkers participated last year, when the event raised $28,000 for local non-profit organizations.

The Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation organizes the race to promote health and to support charities.

“Non-profit organizations in Fauquier and Prince William counties are going to benefit from this year’s race,” said Leslie Wise, the race director. “We live in a great area with so many generous people and businesses who understand what helping our community is all about.

The foundation has donated more than $83,000 from the previous four races. The donations should top $100,000 with this year’s race proceeds, Ms. Wise said.

A Race Day Expo outside the WARF will feature the sponsors and local non-profit organizations.

Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, May 14. Onsite registration will be available Sunday morning, May 15.
