More than 300 people participated in the Nov. 4 event.
The seventh annual Bodies in Motion race earlier this month in Warrenton raised $55,000 for community non-profits, the organizers announced last week.

The Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation organizes the event, which features 10-k, 5-k and “fun run” races that start and finish at the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreational Facility.

In its first six years, Bodies in Motion raised $215,000 for local charities.

More than 300 people participated in the Nov. 4 event. Originally scheduled in September, Bodies in Motion got postponed because of weather.

“We need to do good deeds, and by doing so, we propel others forward to do the same,” said Jeff Hollis, CEO of Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center and treasurer of its foundation. “We were pleased with a good turnout at the race from the communities that we serve — including Fauquier, Culpeper, and Prince William — and great support from the Town of Warrenton. This participation helps us to give back in abundance.”

The foundation on Dec. 5 will present checks to 25 nonprofit organizations.

“We are especially grateful to our many event sponsors who generously committed the bulk of these funds in order for us to give back the way we do,” said Jill Smith, race coordinator and manager at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center.

That's my wonderful Grandson Aidan right there in the front in the red and black.
He's 16 and we are so proud of him for joining the effort this year. Congratulations to all the runners and the amount raised was wonderful!
