Michael A. Ewing, with four decades of financial services experience, has served as CEO of Oak View National Bank since its founding in 2009.
The board of Warrenton-based Oak View National Bank has elected CEO Michael A. Ewing as its chairman and Earl H. Douple Jr. as vice chairman and lead outside director.

Mr. Ewing, who played a prominent role in the bank’s organization 12 years ago, has more than 40 years of experience in financial services. He previously served as president and CEO of the Marshall National Bank and Trust Co., founded in 1905 and acquired by Mercantile Bankshares in 1998. Mr. Ewing earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Virginia Tech and graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Mr. Douple has been a member of Oak View’s board of directors since the bank opened in 2009 and served the last three years as chairman. Retired from a career in business management, Mr. Douple earned a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, a master’s in law from Georgetown University and a master’s in business administration from The Darden School at the University of Virginia.

“We are privileged to have such an esteemed and connected group of individuals willing to serve on our board,” Mr. Ewing said. “Their knowledge, expertise, and deep commitment to the bank and the community has been instrumental to our success.”

As of June 30, Oak View’s had total assets of $313.7 million, total loans of $245 million and total deposits of $270.2 million.

The bank’s shareholders last week approved creation of a holding company, Oak View Bankshares Inc., designed to give the institution more flexibility in conducting business.

Oak View has bank offices in Warrenton, Marshall and Culpeper, along with a loan production office in Washington, Va.
