Hammer new director of Leadership Fauquier

Deanna Hammer succeeds Sandra Roszel as executive director of Leadership Fauquier.
The Leadership Fauquier Board of Directors has hired Deanna M. Hammer as the nonprofit’s executive director.

Ms. Hammer succeeds Sandra Roszel, who had led the program since 2015.

Leadership Fauquier’s new executive director has 28 years of experience as a nonprofit leader and business owner in Fauquier County. She has been active in the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce, Greater Piedmont Realtors and Girl Scouts of the National Capital Area. A 2019 Leadership Fauquier graduate, Ms. Hammer most recently she served two years as director of development for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fauquier, responsible for community outreach and fundraising.

“The Leadership Fauquier opportunity is an honor,” she said. “I have benefited greatly from the knowledge, skills, and relationships developed through my experience in Leadership Fauquier, and I look forward to contributing to the success of present and future leaders within our flourishing community.”

Her responsibilities include strategic planning, operations, finance, programming and partnerships. The executive director reports to Leadership Fauquier Board Chairman Nathan Gilbert.

The organization’s 10-month program each year gives about 20 participants the tools, resources and connections to make things happen in Fauquier County.
