“Five over 5” award nominations due by Dec. 15

Aging Together, the regional organization supporting quality of life for the aging community, seeks nominations for five people older than 50 who have given back to their community. The winners will be celebrated at the annual awards program in May.

Honorees are nominated by individuals and organizations who know about their contributions and good citizenship, and then selected by committee. One person in each county within the region — Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock — will be awarded and celebrated at the “Five over 50” awards program on May 21, 2020. Nominations are sought for those who have positively impacted their community in a significant way and left an enduring mark.

Nominations must be received no later than Dec. 15to be included in the selection process. Nomination forms are available by calling 540-321-3068 or nominations can be submitted through the agency’s website. Please, contact the agency for more information about how to nominate.

The 2019 award recipients: Doug Larson (Fauquier), Cathy Zielinski (Culpeper), Jeff Flynn (Orange), Maxwell Lacy (Madison) and Barney O’Meara (Rappahannock).

Aging Together, through partnerships, works to connect people to communities and resources to improve quality of life as we age.
