Free “Until Help Arrives” training offered Saturday

Have you ever wanted to learn what to do in an emergency situation before first responders arrive?

Fauquier County on Saturday will offer “Until Help Arrives” training for the public, providing the knowledge and skills necessary to help our community save lives until first responders can arrive.

The free training will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Sycamore Room at Fauquier Hospital.

“The training will demonstrate how to recognize violent activities, how to respond safely, how to provide immediate rescue tactics to the injured and how to report incidents to 9-1-1 efficiently,” said Sara Makely, deputy coordinator of the Fauquier County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management. “The knowledge and skills that are learned can be applied in various situations involving traumatic injury including car accidents, household injuries or an active shooter.”

County government employees recently underwent the same training.
