Information sought on car that hit pedestrian Friday
The 22-year-old man reported that a blue sedan hit him on Route 28, south of Route 17.
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office seeks public help identifying a motorist whose vehicle struck a pedestrian Friday night in Bealeton.
The incident took place on Route 28 near Oak Shade Drive on Sept. 20, Sgt. James Hartman said.
“The 22-year-old male victim was transported to the Fauquier Hospital Emergency Room just before midnight for minor injuries,” Sgt. Hartman said. “He reported to deputies that he was walking home from work earlier in the night along Route 28, near Oak Shade Road, when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.
“The victim advised he was walking along the southbound shoulder of the roadway when he turned and noticed a blue sedan and was then struck and thrown to the ground. The victim reported being knocked unconscious for a few minutes and then walked home.’
The sheriff’s office asks anyone who may have been in that area Friday night and who saw anything suspicious, or anyone who has any knowledge of this incident to call Detective Larry Terry at 540-347-3300.
