Joe Biden competence, decision-making questioned

By Harry F. Burroughs III

If Joe Biden is elected, he will be 78 years old the day he takes the oath of office. This will make him the oldest person to ever serve as president by nearly a decade.

While many folks that age are spending their golden years filling out a bingo card, going to retirement parties and playing golf, Joe continues to shock us all. Here are a few of his latest blatherskite utterances over the just the past two years.

• “I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.” — South Carolina, February 5, 2020.

• “150 million people have been killed since 2007 because of gun violence.” — Primary debate, February 24, 2020.

• “Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID.” — Pennsylvania, June 25, 2020.

• “Poor kids are just as bright as white kids.” — Asian and Hispanic Coalition, August 9, 2019.

• “We choose truth over facts.” — Iowa State Fair, August 9, 2019.

• “You are a lying dog face pony soldier.” — To a young female voter in New Hampshire, February 20, 2020

• “Unlike the African American community with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community.” — Delaware, August 7, 2020.

• “Are you a junkie?” — National Association of Black Journalists, August 5, 2020.

• “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” — To Charlamagne tha God, May 22, 2020.

• “Hi, I am Joe Biden’s Husband.” — Democratic National Convention, August 18, 2020.

While these are all head scratchers, is Joe Biden the person you want answering the phone at 2 a.m. when there is a major international crisis? According to former Secretary of Defense in the Obama Administration, Robert Gates, “Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

President Obama, who did not want Biden to run for president, noted, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to F-- things up.”

If Joe Biden had been president in May 2011, Osama bin Laden would still be alive. Biden was the only member of the Obama administration who opposed removing this monster who was responsible for killing more than 3,000 innocent Americans on September 11, 2001. Fortunately, no one was listening to him.

More recently, he called President Trump’s decision on January 31, 2020, to stop all foreign visitors from China wrong and xenophobic. Had the president listened to Joe Biden, tens of thousands of Americans would have died. What a stunning lack of judgment by a presidential candidate with a lifetime of dangerously wrong decisions.

UnfairandUnbalanced, you should read the document linked below where 235 senior military officers backed President Donald Trump’s reelection in a letter warning that 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden will lead to socialist and Marxist influences on American government.

The signed, Open Letter to the American Public states:

“It can be argued that this is the most important election since our country was founded,” the 235 retired senior military officers wrote, adding, “With the Democratic Party welcoming to socialists and Marxists, our historic way of life is at stake."

The letter continued: “We believe that President Donald Trump is committed to a strong America. As president, he will continue to secure our borders, defeat our adversaries, and restore law and order domestically.”

The letter is signed by at least one Medal of Honor recipient, retired Marine Major General Jim Livingston, eight four-star generals or admirals and 42 three star generals or admirals, according to the military news outlet.

The letter’s release follows a widely circulated September 3 story from the Atlantic, “Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers,’” which reported that Trump called fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers.” The story cited four anonymous sources with “firsthand knowledge” of the comments.

Multiple former and current members of the Trump administration who were on the trip where Trump allegedly made these remarks have denied Goldberg’s story, according to NBC News (Goldberg Says He Kept Sources Anonymous Because People Would Be Mean On Twitter).

Trump also denied the report himself, according to The New York Times, saying: “If people really exist that would have said that, they’re lowlifes and they’re liars. And I would be willing to swear on anything that I never said that about our fallen heroes. There is nobody that respects them more.”

President Trump added, “What animal would say such a thing?”

Sadly, Democrats posting below are all in a very frightening state of denial about Joe Biden's competence and decision-making faculties. They are still attempting to defend the indefensible. Here are just a few recent examples (that we know about- and have been actually reported on):

Even Joe Biden's supporters are giving Traditional Liberalism a very bad name (or something must be in the public water system of Democrat-controlled Philadelphia):

Traditional American Democrats who still hold out belief the Party is the same one which once nominated Harry Truman or Hubert Humphrey- Think Again- and Be Very Careful Who You Associate With in 2020.

Trump's SOP -

"There is quite some distance between "yelling and screaming that we're all going to die", which might cause a panic, and "calmly explaining the facts of the pandemic, and detailing the federal government's plans to mitigate and address it", which would not.

If we could teach every American 4th grade to recognize basic logical fallacies and ruthlessly mock anyone deploying or taken in by them...

Ad Hominem - Crooked Hillary, Sleepy Joe

Straw Man - Democrats want Open Borders, Joe Biden will defund police

Appeal to Ignorance - There’s no way of knowing whether my Russian collusion affected the outcome of the 2016 election!

False Dilemma/Excluded Middle - You either MAGA along with everyone else, or you’re an AOC Democrat!, My choices were to lie my butt off or cause a panic!

Slippery Slope - If we grant asylum to victims of foreign violence and oppression they’ll bring that violence and oppression with them to America, where we’ll all be violently oppressed by fleeing victims of violent oppression!

Circular Argument - What part of *illegal* immigrant do you not understand? It’s illegal!!

Hasty Generalization - All politicians are venal con artists only in it for themselves, (not justus)!

Red Herring - But her Emails!!!11!!!!, Burisma!!!

Tu Quoque - But you hated it when all of Obama’s judicial nominees needed 60 votes for confirmation!

Causal Fallacy - If she didn’t want to be sexually assaulted what was she doing going to parties in Bethesda with boys from Georgetown Prep in the 1980s?

Fallacy of Sunk Costs - Well… he did win our party nomination…

Appeal to Authority - I read about this thing I’m asserting without evidence in the New York Times, which was quoting me…

Equivocation - I meant ‘wouldn’t’, We’ll provide the evidence after a short period of time

Appeal to Pity - Being held accountable for my words and actions is Very Unfair™ to me!

Ad Populum - the 35% of people who agree with everything I say and do can’t all be wrong!"

Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, said his magazine's story about Trump calling Americans who died in battle "losers" and "suckers," was just the tip of the iceberg.
The Atlantic's editor-in-chief says his story about Trump calling vets 'losers' is just the beginning.

"I would fully expect more reporting to come out about this and more confirmation and new pieces of information in the coming days and weeks," Goldberg told CNN's Chief Media Correspondent Brian Stelter on "Reliable Sources" Sunday. "We have a responsibility and we're going to do it regardless of what he says."

I don’t have a gun — I have an armory,” said one retired Wise County resident who wears a mask over his long gray beard and spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect his privacy. “ ‘Macho,’ to me, is a word. It will get you nowhere, except probably into trouble. So if there’s some way or some minute possibility of taking care of yourself, what’s the harm in doing it? I mean, I don’t want to be laying there in the hospital with both lungs clogged up with this crap saying, ‘I wish I’d done that.’ ”

Retired Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, America’s favorite airline pilot, is “disgusted” by the “current occupant of the White House,” he tweeted Friday in an uncharacteristic attack on President Donald Trump.

The easygoing pilot, who safely landed a crippled commercial airliner in the Hudson River 11 years ago to save every one of his 155 passengers, erupted over a report Thursday in The Atlantic about Trump’s shocking insults labeling fallen service members as “losers” and “suckers.”

As part of his nine-tweet attack, Sullenberger began by honoring his father, who, like him, was a war veteran. “His generation saved the world from fascism,” he wrote. Sullenberger, an Air Force veteran, volunteered for military service during the Vietnam War.

Majority Of U.S. Adults Under 30 Now Living With Parents, Study Finds.

More than half of adults under 30 (52%), or 26.6 million, are living with one or both of their parents as of July, according to a study from Pew Research Center. That’s up from 47% in February and exceeds the previous high of 48% in 1940, according to Census data.

It’s also the highest recorded level from the Census dating back to 1900, but no data is available from the Great Depression, which likely was worse, according to Pew.

“Unfortunately you’ve got a slew of factors working against the younger demographics in this country right now,” Sopko said. “You have to take into account two huge factors: massive student loan debt and a lack of available work, especially in service fields, hospitality, and the travel sectors.”

Hmmmmm. Let's do a little contact tracing-Trump and DeVos.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin continues his efforts to exert his personal influence around the globe and meddle in American democracy and is accused of using a nerve agent to poison one of his main political opponents, President Donald Trump broke his recent silence on Russia and the attack on Alexey Navalny, calling it "tragic" but emphasizing that he has a good relationship with the Russian leader.

And the President made no mention of other provocations in recent weeks, including a collision between a Russian military convoy and a US armored vehicle that injured seven American troops. Or the harassment of an American B-52 by Russian fighter jets. Or the fact that Russian intelligence was paying the Taliban a bounty to kill US troops.

So far the White House has offered no explanation for the President's silence in the face of the repeated military provocations.

UNFAIRANDUNSTABLE, unfortunately for you, there is something called Truth all around us- which is a very powerful thing.

Unfortunately for Goldberg, FOIA documents on the subject show that the reason President Trump didn’t visit a cemetery in Europe was not due to Goldberg’s claim that Trump hates the military, it was due to the Navy cancelling Trump’s flight due to rain:

Regarding the lead of this story, documents have been obtained from the Navy via #FOIA about Trump’s 2018 trip to Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris and the documents say his transport was canceled by the Navy due to rain.

Trump by now was in one of his rages. He was so angry that he wasn’t taking many breaths. All morning, he had been coarse and cavalier, but the next several things he bellowed went beyond that description. They stunned nearly everyone in the room, and some vowed that they would never repeat them. Indeed, they have not been reported until now.

“I wouldn’t go to war with you people,” Trump told the assembled brass.

Addressing the room, the commander in chief barked, “You’re a bunch of dopes and babies.”

For a president known for verbiage he euphemistically called “locker room talk,” this was the gravest insult he could have delivered to these people, in this sacred space. The flag officers in the room were shocked. Some staff began looking down at their papers, rearranging folders, almost wishing themselves out of the room. A few considered walking out. They tried not to reveal their revulsion on their faces, but questions raced through their minds. “How does the commander in chief say that?” one thought. “What would our worst adversaries think if they knew he said this?”

A retired major general has issued an emotional condemnation of President Donald Trump, responding to an Atlantic article claiming the commander in chief dismissed dead soldiers as "suckers" and "losers."

Major General Paul Eaton, who commanded troops during the occupation of Iraq, posted a video on Twitter late on Thursday urging Americans to vote against Trump in the coming presidential election.

Eaton said the Atlantic article was "a tough read." Addressing the president directly, Eaton continued: "I'm pretty unhappy with you Mr. Trump... I'm going to keep this short for your famous short attention span."

"You have shown disrespect to the military on countless occasions," Eaton said. "I am stunned that anybody in the United States military would consider you anything but a loser or a sucker. You're no patriot."
FairandBalanced · September 4, 2020 at 10:39 am
If these stories are true, Goldberg’s sources—especially the generals, the more highly decorated, the better—must go on the record.

This would be unusual. Generals don’t like to go on the record when talking about anything controversial, and certainly not when dissing a sitting president. This is true for retired generals as well, who feel no less bound by the ethos of respecting civilian authority and staying out of politics.

But by talking to Goldberg about these events at all, these generals waded deep into the political swamp. They must have thought it important for the public—for voters—to know this side of the man in the White House. They must, deep down, feel despair over the possibility that this man—who holds their professions, their values, and their patriotism in such contempt—might serve as president for another four years.

One or more of these generals should weigh the competing values: their loyalty to the president versus their loyalty and lifelong dedication to the security of the nation and the lives of their fellow service members.

It shouldn’t be a tough choice

DELRAY BEACH, FLa. (AP) — A new report details multiple instances of President Donald Trump making disparaging remarks about members of the U.S. military who have been captured or killed, including referring to the American war dead at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France in 2018 as “losers” and “suckers.”

In another conversation on the trip, The Atlantic said, Trump referred to the 1,800 Marines who died in the World War I battle of Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

The Defense officials also confirmed to The AP reporting in The Atlantic that Trump on Memorial Day 2017 had gone with his chief of staff, John Kelly, to visit the Arlington Cemetery gravesite of Kelly’s son, Robert, who was killed in 2010 in Afghanistan, and said to Kelly: “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”

The senior Marine Corps officer and The Atlantic, citing sources with firsthand knowledge, also reported that Trump said he didn’t want to support the August 2018 funeral of Republican Sen. John McCain, a decorated Navy veteran who spent years as a Vietnam prisoner of war, because he was a “loser.” The Atlantic also reported that Trump was angered that flags were flown at half-staff for McCain, saying: “What the f—- are we doing that for? Guy was a f—-ing loser.”

The magazine said Trump also referred to former President George H.W. Bush as a “loser” because he was shot down by the Japanese as a Navy pilot in World War II.

And they say Joe Biden is senile..........this from our cuckoo bird-in-Chief...

"The president, sound in mind and body, is continuing to tell us important things that are worth knowing. Most recently, he wants us to know that soup is a dangerous weapon.

“And you have people coming over with bags of soup — big bags of soup," he said. "And they lay it on the ground, and the anarchists take it and they start throwing it at our cops, at our police. And if it hits you, that’s worse than a brick because that’s got force. It’s the perfect size. It’s, like, made perfect. And when they get caught, they say, ‘No, this is just soup for my family. And the media says, ‘This is just soup.’”

One month before the 2016 election, then-candidate Donald Trump issued a dire warning.

“We are a divided nation, and each week it seems we’re getting more and more divided, with race riots in our streets on a monthly basis,” Trump told rallygoers on Oct. 3, 2016. “This is not the America that was handed down to us, and it’s not the America we want given to our children. But this is the America we will have if we don’t change our leadership immediately.”
