Manassas man faces charges for The Plains thefts

Anthony Shelton, 41, of Manassas, faces three felony and two misdemeanor charges.
A Manassas man faces multiple criminal charges for allegedly stealing two vehicles near The Plains, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle report — on Creels Lane off Hopewell Road just northeast of town — Wednesday afternoon, Lt. Chad Brubaker said.

“The investigation led to the discovery of an additional vehicle theft at a nearby residence and a breaking and entering at that location,” Lt. Brubaker said.
Deputies charged Anthony Shelton, 41, of Manassas, with two counts felony unauthorized use of a vehicle, one count felony breaking and entering, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor destruction of property.

Mr. Shelton remained in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond Thursday afternoon.
