Marking 100th anniversary, chamber has ‘new direction’

Business consultant Marianne Clyde succeeds LFCC Provost Chris Coutts as the Fauquier Chamber chairman for 2021.
The Fauquier Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2021 with “a new direction” and an increased focus on community engagement, according to its leaders.

The business group will open the year with a “One Hundred New Engagements Challenge” that will encourage “members to like and follow each other’s social media accounts, giving each business a much-needed boost from the very first week,” the chamber said in a press release Wednesday.

It also will produce a new, twice-monthly “Chamber Chat” broadcast on Facebook and present Business Heroes of 2020 Awards, honoring members nominated by their peers for “going above and beyond during a very difficult last year.”

“So gratitude will begin our year and end it, with a 100 Bits of Gratitude Challenge, written by our members and published to celebrate our 100th Year Anniversary Gala in November,” said Marianne Clyde, the organization’s 2021 chairwoman. “While we will be having a great time, we will also be focused on the needs of our local businesses and creating strong advocacy for them at the local and state levels, building a bigger, stronger chamber and a stronger more resourceful community.”

Founded in 1921, the chamber also will host community events, including a “One Hundred Mile Challenge” for walkers, runners, bikers, and swimmers. Each category will allow registrants to keep track of their miles and self-report their progress. It will culminate in an outdoor event this summer, if COVID cooperates.

Other events open to the public will include the Valor Awards, Economic Summit, Micro Enterprise Symposium and a “reimagined Old Town Warrenton Spring Festival” ¬— all planned in late summer or fall.

“The Fauquier Chamber of Commerce means business,” Ms. Clyde said. “The Fauquier Chamber helps the community do business, so that we all can thrive. We are focused on promoting business in Fauquier County through relationships, resources and revitalization.”

Immediate past Chairman Chris Coutts praised chamber members’ contributions in an “incredibly challenging” 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a range of changes.

“We’ve developed close partnerships with many valuable groups, including Fauquier County Economic Development, the Town of Warrenton, the PATH Foundation, Experience Old Town Warrenton, the Mason Enterprise Center, and the SBDC, and together we’ve fought for more resources and support for businesses in our community,” he said. “We are proud of the work we have done so far, and we will maintain our focus on helping the community thrive through our support of business in the region.”

Ms. Clyde said: “We will offer educational opportunities and inspiring speakers that will give our members solid tools to move their businesses forward. We have been through the most difficult year that any of us can remember, but the leadership we received from Chris Coutts and our Executive Committee through 2020 has set us up to make some solid changes in our events, our offerings and our direction.

“Businesses have had a very difficult year and we have a solid plan to show them the way to prosper and grow, and have fun doing it!”

My father is also part of this historical chamber that has reached its hundred years successfully. It has provided countless job opportunities to Americans and played a big part in the development of infrastructure in the country. I wrote an essay about the services my father provides, I am grateful to EduBirdie source which shares real reviews about the best writing services which helped me writing that essay.

That's chump change compared to the value and wealth generation of a long-term business relationships you can build at the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce. I know that for fact because I did it for 15 years with excellent results. Get-rich-quick is a waste of time.
